You all are going to be SO jealous after you read this post!
So, if I haven’t told you already, Friday was my last day before Spring Break. For two and a half weeks I will be in Indonesia with my family. I just wanted to post something before I left because I probably won’t get much access to a computer over there. I’ll be too busy to actually touch a computer. If I do get on the internet, I’ll post a quick update on here about my experiences on the trip.
So what am I going to be doing in Indonesia?
1. Visiting family. I haven’t seen my grandmother in about three or four years now and I really miss her.
2. Sweating my butt off and getting 4278924789 shades darker. See, in Indonesia it is around the mid 80’s degrees Fahrenheit all year round. PLUS HUMIDITY!
3. Cultural Exploration. Though I am half Indonesian, I have only been there twice, both when I was little. I like learning about cultures so while my sister, brother, and his girlfriend goes to the water park I will be Sunda Kelapa, the Old Harbour. I cannot wait to actually delve into Indonesian tradition and heritage. Reading about everything in books is nothing compared to actually experiencing it.
4. Shopping. I can honestly say this. Tyson’s Corners has nothing on the malls in Indonesia. If you don’t belive me, just search up Grand Indonesia Mall or Plaza Indonesia Mall. Seriously.
5. Building up my knowledge of the Indonesian language. I was about to put ” feeling stupid” for one of the reasons because I don’t know how to speak Indonesian that well. Although I can’t communicate efficiently, I can understand the language almost wholly. My brother learnt a lesson in that. He was talking to my step dad about the Christmas present he got for me and my sister. Lets just say that I had to put my acting skills to the use during present time.
6. This reason I’ll save for a later post. ( ; *hint hint*
So, yup! I’ll be getting some R and R while you all will be in school learning about Acid-Base equilibrium and the American Progressive Movement or whatnot. Having a three week spring break is pretty great. But all the make up work is going to be such a pain! Almost 15 pounds of my luggage is from my schoolwork, books, and papers I have to bring in order to stay up to date.
Hopefully, I’ll get to a post while I am over there. The Perfume post that I am so anxious to write about has to take a backseat for awhile. My connecting fligh stops in Japan so when I am over there I’ll probably get something about Perfume. You know, the day they release their new single “One Room Disco” is the day that I will be in Japan! I am so psyched. Oh, by the way, I have been learning dance moves from them and I must say that it has been sooooooo coooool! I cannot stop listening to them either. Well, I have to finish up packing and cleaning the house. I’ll write later!
Oh, here is a picture of Perfume. I like all of them but Kashiyuka is my favourite. A-chan comes a close second though.

I just realised how much of a liar and hypocrytical I am. I say I am going to update this but I don’t. I secretly hate people who don’t update their blogs, but I am slowly becoming one of them. Good golly gosh!
I know everyone has their excuses and I hate it when they post a post and rant off about why it is soo overdue. I just hate it! Suck up you loser and have better time management! But since I am a hypocrite, I have the right to do this…
1. Lately, there seems to be soo much homework! I mean, sometimes I cannot even take my afternoon nap. I’d come home and start homework and work until late at night. I think that since finals, SOLs, and AP exams are coming up teachers are panicking to get all the material in before then.
2. I don’t like making short useless posts about how my day was. I like them to be long, meaningful, and beautifully written and that takes a lot of time to think up and write. And if I want to just post some music on here, it’ll take too much time to get a video or audio clip to load.
3. I have been stressed out lately. If you can’t tell just look at my face and you’ll notice the breakouts. With school and everything going on, it’s been a hard time for me these past two months. My mother and brother recently spent a whole month in Indonesia and left me in charge of the house. Lets just say that I now wholly respect moms.
4. A lot has been going on in my life lately. MAJOR CHANGE is about to happen and everything leading up til then is taking a toll on me. In a later post ( I promise) I will detail of this major change. Until then, I’ll leave you at your own suspense. The news is life changing. And no, I am NOT pregnant.
So I guess those were my stupid hypocrtical excuses. I probably won’t post anything more this weekend because I will be too busy with homework, preparing for the change, and listening to PERFUME! Okay, recently, I have discovered a J-POP techno pop all girl group called Perfume. And I haven’t been able to stop listening to them! No joke. Just ask my friends. All of Perfumes songs are catchy, dancable, and just plain awesome. I think their sound embodies the whole melting pot of my type of music, if that makes any sense. Plus, the members of the group are soo adorable! I was reading a blog post and they described what I caught when I first listened to Perfume, called the Perfume Effect:
“It’s Perfume innate ability to win over most people through their cuteness, catchy music and the kickass PVs.”
So probably my next post will be about this wonderful group that captured my heart with their amazing music, down to Earth personalities, and cool dance moves. Can’t wait until then! It’ll be a fun one to write.
