It has already been five days since I have arrived in Jakarta and I am still suffering the consequence of traveling to places half-way around the globe, jet lag. I bet I am the most anti social person ever because I sleep throughout the whole day and stay up all night watching asian dramas because I have no one to converse with due to the fact that they are sleeping. Now, time is backwards for me. But things have been getting better as of late. Instead of sleeping at 4 PM I can manage to stay awake until 8PM. I know…
NEWS BREAK!
I do not know about America, but in Indonesia there has only been one thing on the news lately: Manohara. This is probably one of the most interesting cases I have ever seen. You see, this sixteen year old girl, Manohara, was married off to an extremely wealthy Malaysian guy (who is like royalty or whatever, I do not know) and apparantely, he abused, raped, and did many horrible horrible things to her. So, this past Saturday,while she and her husband was in Singapore, she escaped with the help of the FBI and other officals. Man, I was just in Singapore the day everything happened! I am still finding out information about it. I mean, it is quite hard to understand news in a different language…I’m working on it.
THAT REMINDS ME. I am currently taking Bahasa Indonesia language lessons. Growing up, I only just listened to Indonesian. I have never actually written or read that much before. My lessons have been…overwhelming but very very helpful in helping me to understand and learn the language better. All I can say is that it better be helpful, driving two hours to each lesson better be worth it!
